Heh, forgot about that Simpsons quote. Now it makes more sense.

Watched the TV movie from a few years back Martin and Lewis, which is about, surprise, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. It was....well, obviously a TV movie. Guy who played Dean was a chump. Sean Hayes played Jerry. Though he doesn't look like him at all, he did a good impression of the nasal 'zany' Jerry voice, which unfortunately wasn't really exploited outside of a couple recreations of their bits. There was too much drama llama. Stick to the real Martin & Lewis stuff

Also saw The Triplets of Belleville. Not what I was expecting, though that's not a bad thing. The most interesting thing was that there was no dialogue, save for a song that was central to the plot. The animation was really old school style too. It was not bad, on the whole.

Do all the foreign flicks I watch make me pretentious? >_>

The Bicycle Thief was....not bad. I mean, I enjoyed it until the end. It just felt like they waited til the last 5 minutes to throw the whole 'desperation makes us do desperate things', moral realitivism message at us. There was no real transition or logical build up to it. Found it rather irritating and defeating of the purpose of the film.

Yojimbo was great. Akira Kurosawa refuses to disappoint me. This was one of his more outright entertaining ones, however, cause he attempted (quite successfully) to fuse a Japanese samurai tale with an American western. The man truly was a cinematic master.
