Ok so I was at work today doing my normal routine when it dawned on me that we all gotta have some pretty crazy stories about the places we work at or the places we've worked at in the past. So I thought we could share a few things that may have happened to us or maybe that we've heard about.

Like last night for instance. I head to work like I regularly do. I work at Walgreens which is a pharmacy/store for those who don't know. On my way in I notice that one of the front doors has caution tape wrapped around it so I went through the door next to it. On the other side I notice the glass from the door is missing, the whole side is caved in, and there's metal lying on the floor. Come to find out later on there was a car accident in the morning that was related to the demolished door.

Now Walgreens is on the corner of an street intersection and there was a three car pile up that happened there. Freakishly enough, a tire from one of the cars came off. And it didn't just pop off. I mean the rod that connects the tire to the car snapped in two. Now think about that, that thing is probably like what an inch and a half or so thick of solid steel. And it just snapped right off on impact. How that could happen I have no clue. Anyways the tire shot out like a bullet, went across the parking lot and smacked the door with such force that busted the hell out of it. Oddly enough it didn't shatter the glass, I mean it hit the side of the door so you figure the shock from it would break the glass but nope it just fell off the door in one perfect piece. What's more amazing is that not one single person or car was hit by this thing. I mean as fast as it was going if it hit somebody they'd probably broken their legs, maybe even their pelvis or something. And if it hit a kid it would have probably killed them. I have no idea what happened to the people involved in the accident but I can only imagine they were pretty banged up if the crash alone could turn a tire into a lethal weapon.

So yeah just thought I'd share just another day in the life of a Walgreens employee.

I'm curious to read what other crazy stories there must be out there in the work place.

I don't think I have any really good stories that have happened when I was at work or even on my way to work. Maybe I'll ponder over this for a bit and I might think of something.

I had a housekeeping job at the airport for a number of years (strictly office cleaning, thank God). It's not the sort of job they drug tested for, because they'd lose 95% of thier employees if they did, and because you had to be on drugs to even consider working there, anyway.

I had a couple of coworkers who tried to have sex in my human resources department. I think they ended up banging in the observation tower bathroom after I ran them off.

I had a guy who came in half drunk most of the time and chased me around with a toilet brush. He was a kick. I miss him.

We had a crazy chick who used to eat out of trash cans - and she wasn't poor or starving, she was nutzo! By the time she was fired, which was only a couple of months after she started, she had me and everyone I worked with written down on a list of people who had tried to kill her. I don't think she was all that far off on that one, actually.

We had a girl who cleaned bathrooms in an office area for a month or so without ever bringing any trash out of them. We later found out she had been stuffing pounds and pounds of it behind the insulation in the bathroom closets. I have no idea why. She was nutzo, too.

Thanks to the huge, arched tin roof, sound carried through the office area I was in pretty darn well. I actually had to be the one to tell my supervisor that when I and everyone else working in the crowded dispatch section could hear her plain as day cleaning the bathroom and going on about the "nasty mother f---ers" who worked there. Oops.

My manager and supervisor (boyfriend and girlfriend) were lowlife assholes in a number of ways. We ordered out to lunch one day, and I ended up with a dinner I couldn't eat (one of those rack's of ribs that's nothing but fat and sauce). My fink supervisor called up the restaurant and told them that all four of the dinners were bad and she wanted them replaced. Then, she arranged to have the refund coupons sent to her house - assuring me that it's better to have them sent there than to have them end up at our office at the airport where someone else might find them and steal them.

I already know that those coupons would have, suspiciously, never made it to her house. I didn't care about not getting my order replaced. I was more pissed about the $80 in extra food she was trying to weasel out of the restaurant for the rest of the dinners that had been perfectly fine.

I went home, called them up, and cancelled the whole order, including my own. I explained the whole bull crap stunt they had tried to pull and asked the manager not to let my supervisor know I was the one that killed the order.

Thankfully, they didn't say a word about me.

A week later, my manager and supervisor were bitching about how they never got their refund - err my refund - and how the restaurant basically told them off when they called about it.

They were still griping about it months later.

They never did figure out that I was the one that fixed them up.

I smile every time I think about that...

I've worked in call centers for most of my adult life. Best thing that happens to us is the cool names we hear. Some of the best named people I talked to were Seanscott Songsong, Cyndi Lou Skank (who owned a bar) and my particular favorite- Nixon Wang.

I used to work a graveyard shift in a call center before the company I worked for realized that almost no one was calling about their cell phone bills at three in the morning. My lazier coworkers would take a pillow and blanket in with them and crawl under the cubicles to sleep. The rest of us were playing video, card and board games. One night someone called in a bomb threat to us and we had to evacuate the building. The town I grew up in was lousy with pipe bombs and arsonists. You didn't screw around or take chances with that.

There was this one guy that would call us every night. There were only eight of us on shift and we were pretty much it for night care in all of the U.S., so if someone called in, they were gonna get one of us. He would do it all night until he got every one of us. The only thing he would say was "Poopy pants."

"Thank you for calling AT&T Wireless services. How can I help you tonight?"
"... poopy pants."
"Sir, do you have a cell phone you need assistance with?"
"Poopy pants."
"Sir, I-"
"Poo-oopy PANTS!"
... and so it would go all night long. We later found out it was one of our co-workers calling on his lunch breaks.

At the time I was working in that call center, I was there on Sept. 11th 2001. Our call center was covering New York City that morning. It was an intensly emotional day. The damage took out all cell phone reception for a mile radius at ground zero. Nothing had remotely trained us for anything like that. But I think the experience helped when I was later working for the US post office help line and I had to talk to Katrina refugees every day that were looking for their FEMA checks.

I'm sure I've probably had more entertaining things happen at work, but I'll have to try to think of them later.

Can't hardly believe I'm typing this one. Will probably regret it later...

I was in the tower restroom at the airport with some extra change in my pocket, so I figured I'd go ahead and get some extra "feminine hygiene products" and store them in my locker (never hurts to keep spares). They came in little boxes and I bought two or three of them before I figured out that something didn't sound right. So I opened the first box, and started laughing, opened the second, and started laughing more, opened the third and damn near hit the floor cracking up. Then I went to the Human Resources department and got everyone there laughing, too.

Some wiseass had replaced the "feminine hygiene products" in the little boxes with Homies figurines.
