I'm currently reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman / Terry Pratchett. I'm pretty early in the book still, so can't pass a final judgement of course, but so far, I'm definitely enjoying it.

I just finished reading an extremely interesting book called "World War Z" by Max Brooks. The book was about the Zombie World War, where an outbreak of some new virus creates a zombie pandemic. What makes the book really shine and stand out though is the style in which it's written; rather than being your standard zombie survival story following on hero or group, the book is written as though it's a post-war historical account, conducted entirely via interviews. Brooks manages to very cleverly explain the war from start to finish without it ever feeling like he's deliberately forcing the plot - he just uses the comments of interviewees and their subtle allusions to progress things, and it works amazingly well. The story ranges from military accounts of the fight back against the zombies, to more personal accounts of struggles during that period. The whole thing works extremely well with its unusual style, and all in all, it was an excellent bit of literature.

Oh, and Jibby, before that book, I finally finished off the Dark Tower series. Man, book 7 was trippy, awesome and... well, any further comment would probably constitute spoilers for those who've not got that far into the story
