English version is up to the part where the shinigami who owns Ryuk's extra notebook shows up. I'd forgotten how utterly fast the anime goes through that part, cramming the whole event into one episode. Dub still sounds good, Light's become better as the VA becomes noticably more comfortable with the role.

Ah, in the middle of the Yotsuba arc. That picks up near the end for sure. Though if you ask me, the anime kind of ruined an....important event that's coming up soon. Though I won't remark on what til you get to that part.

I just hope they explain what all happens at the end of the series, because it was cheap the way it ended. Maybe this will be more proper.

I liked how they made Light more blatantly nasty at the end in this one, where he openly attempted to kill his father and the whole team rather than keep them around to manipulate after L's demise. And the whole L sentenced himself to death so he'd life to catch Light in the act was just clever. And yeah, it was cool how they jumped ahead to what was more or less the real ending. Though Ryuk's changed reasoning from 'I'm not gonna wait for you to die in jail' to 'you've had enough fun' was...

Jeeze it took you long enough to watch that movie. I thought it was interesting how closely they kept the ending in spite of not incorporating Near and Mello.

I didn't mind where they went with the story after L's departure. I just wish they didn't give Mello the shaft like they did. I mean he was more interesting than Near in my opinion and then they didn't even have him in most of the chapters. They only brought him back when it was needed and then he was just as quickly discarded as...

Finally got around to watching the second live-action movie. It was considerably better. Where as the first took far too many liberties and basically made half the story up, the second one very faithfully stuck with the source material, from Misa showing up til L's...conclusion in the story. Of course some liberties were taken, but this time it felt more out of necessity to make it fit within the time. I rather liked the ending. Hell,...

I got bored by the 16th episode after watching almost in a row all until that one.

The story just starts to drag from that point and too much of the same is going on.

Will finish it someday though, hopefully something interesting happens after...

English dub has arrived. From the first episode at least, it seems not bad. Ryuk was cast well, and Light wasn't half bad (I expect it to improve as things go on). Can't wait to hear what Light's dad and L sound like, though.

Well finally got in to it too... it is without a doubt AWESOME. I watched like 9 episodes in a row and now I don't have the 10th so that's why I'm stoping...

I read Cubs' spoiler post before... thank God I don't remember shit of it.

And yeah can't wait to finish this one too, wasn't this excited since I saw Samurai Champloo and then Berserk... and...
