Haha, I never saw that one. Yet I managed to see the crappy sequel and the short lived cartoon series.

Continuing my Batman fix, I watched Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Which is basically Bruce Timm and Paul Dini saying to the fans "Here's what we can do when we don't have censors on our ass". Violent, dark, a lot more adult than the already pretty adult tv show version...I don't know why it doesn't get talked about that much.

And I was reminded...

The Dark Knight was pretty good. Mostly cause of Heath Ledger's run at the Joker. One of the best movie villains I've ever seen. Though I liked the first one better on the whole.

Batman: Gotham Knight was rather meh on the whole. Only one decent story of the lot. Hopefully The Dark Knight, which I'm seeing tonight, will be better.

I for one am surprised at Gary Buesy's ability to both look the part of Buddy Holly and sing his songs rather convincingly.

Watching the movie Twenty Bucks. There's a preacher man that reminds me of ze crow. He's obsessed with pie. Any preacher that uses the line "Pie restores faith", is sure presiding over a congregation our fearless leader would want to be a part of. XD

Rambo 4 was good old people exploding, violent awesome. Stallone is 2 for 2 in properly going back to his old franchises.

I just finished watching Untraceable. It must have ably done what it set out to do, because I feel ill. It was all too easy to believe the story could happen and it was hard not to feel some empathy for the very very sick killer

or empathy for the people who bothered making this, 45 minutes in and I already find it predictable

I watched the remake of Sleuth. For the first hour it was true to the original story, if a bit darker than the predecessor. The detective scene was particularly well done, cause Jude Law got to show some real acting and it was just fun to watch. After that the movie goes....somewhere else in the last act. To a place I didn't like at all. Spoilers in blue: Out of the blue, Wyke decides he's attracted to Tindle and proposes he live with him...

Just watched Charlie Wilson's War. I saw the commercials and the cast and the director intrigued me enough to want to see it, but I was afraid the politics were going to make me hate it.

Incidentally, I was right. Plus the women who were portrayed in that movie were offensive in the extreme. Doubly so, since it was a true story.

Watched The Man Who Knew Too much. Not the one with Jimmy Stewart, but Hitchcock's lesser-known first attempt at it in 1938. Let's just say it's obvious why he remade it 20 years later. It was clearly very low budget even for the era, and was very rough and hard to watch. Save for one memorable scene (the evil dentist), I could have passed on it.

Finally got around to watching Dick Tracy. I really remembered nothing about this

The Bicycle Thief was....not bad. I mean, I enjoyed it until the end. It just felt like they waited til the last 5 minutes to throw the whole 'desperation makes us do desperate things', moral realitivism message at us. There was no real transition or logical build up to it. Found it rather irritating and defeating of the purpose of the film.

Yojimbo was great. Akira Kurosawa refuses to disappoint...
